Mary Hernandez

Mary Ann Hernandez, 67, of Osceola passed away Sunday night, September 17, 2017, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Her family will host a memorial service in her honor at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Covington with Dr. Eric Black officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Born June 27, 1950 in Dublin, she was the daughter of J. C. and Maurine (King) Williamson. She was raised in Dublin and graduated from Dublin High School. On February 27, 1970 Mary Ann was united in marriage to Cayetano “Tonto” Hernandez. The couple moved to Hillsboro where Mary Ann worked as a seamstress for several years. They later moved to Osceola where she was a full-time housewife raising the family and helping out on the farm. When she was not tending to the calves, chickens, and pigs, Mary Ann also enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her family. She loved her three Yorkie puppies, Chewy, Sassy, and Joe. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Wanda Jean Whitefield and Glenda Mackey.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Cayetano “Tonto” Hernandez of Osceola; two sons, Timmy Lee Hernandez and wife, Susan, and Shawn Hernandez and wife, Donielle, both of Itasca; sister, Joyce Wilson and husband, Corky, of Gustine; four grandchildren, MacKenzie Hernandez, Casey Hernandez, Matthew Hernandez, and Katelyn George, all of Itasca; and a niece, Judy Segura and husband, Mario, of Brownwood.
