Mary Beth Kitchens, 73, of Whitney, TX, went to be with the Lord and the people she has so dearly missed, on November 10, 2019, with her two daughters by her side.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with pastor Jay Morris of First Baptist Church of  Whitney officiating.    Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park.  A visitation will be held from 7- 9 p.m. on Friday, November 15th at the funeral home.

She was born in Corsicana, Texas on December 22, 1945, to Mary Francis and Gerald Pevehouse, but Mary Beth has called Whitney home since 1948.  She followed in her family’s footsteps, working for the telephone company where she retired from GTE in 1992.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitney where she was involved with many of the children’s programs and Meals on Wheels.  A very colorful person with many friends from all walks of life,  she loved to read, dance, laugh, and have a good time. Her laugh was infectious and could fill a room. Many of her proudest achievements where her children and grandchildren, family meant the world to Mary Beth.

She was preceded in death by her only sibling, Gerald Pevehouse Jr; parents, Gerald Pevehouse and Mary Francis Pevehouse; husbands, Leslie Eugene “Kitch” Kitchens and Stephen Young McCown.

Mary Beth is survived by children, Marti Parker and husband, Stephen of Bulverde, TX, and Staci Bennett of Whitney, TX; grandchildren, Whitney Hatchel and husband Wes of Bulverde, TX, Averi Esquivel of Jefferson City, TN, Jordan Parker of San Antonio, TX, Jacob Parker of New Braunfels, TX, and Tori Esquivel of Stephenville, TX; great-grandchild, Harper Elizabeth Hatchel; nieces and nephews, Chris Pevehouse and wife Melissa, Page Van Hoy and husband Bill of Austin, TX; great–nieces and nephews Mathew Pevehouse, Morgan Pevehouse, and Katie Van Hoy.
