Mary Massengale

Mary Katherine was born in Hillsboro to Claude D. and Lena G. Neal Martin. She lived most of her life in Hillsboro where she owned Tiny Tot Nursery. In addition, she lived briefly in Corpus Christi, Synder, and Premont. On May 1, 1943 she married Cecil Weaver, Jr. in Grandview, Texas. Later she married J. C. Massengale on July 26, 1956 in Hillsboro. She was a member of Line Street United Methodist Church in Hillsboro where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, was a member of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class, taught vacation bible school, headed the children's department, and served on the Parson's Committee and the church board. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Moore and Edna Turner of Hillsboro and Florine Hild of Annapolis, Maryland; and one brother, Horace Martin of Hillsboro. Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann Dickinson and husband, Mark of Corpus Christi; a step-daughter, Janice M. Angle and husband, Jack of Carrollton; and a brother, Charles Martin and wife, Vera of Boonesville, Arkansas.
