Mary Laura (Ramirez) Montes

Mary Laura Montes, age 56, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021, in Waco. Funeral services have been rescheduled to 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2021, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Pastor Michael Nemec officiating.  Interment will be at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Laura was born June 12, 1964, in Hillsboro to Nicholas and Antonia (Galvan) Ramirez. She grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro ISD in 1986. Laura then attended Hill College Nursing School receiving her LVN in 1995. She started her nursing career at Canterbury Villa Nursing Home and later worked at Town Hall Estates as an aide and nurse until her passing. Her family was very important to her, especially spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laura enjoyed cooking, shopping, spoiling her pets and taking care of her plants.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mario Ramirez; sister, Rachel Yolanda Ramirez; son, Mark Garcia; and her beloved dog Pedro.

She is survived by her husband, Gustavo Montes; children Jessica Gonzales and husband, Mike, Juan Ramirez and wife, Karen Acosta, Angie Arellano and, husband Joe, and Luis Fuentes and wife, Kelly; brother, Isaac Ramirez; sisters, Mary Helen Young, Diana Escamilla, and Margaret Ramirez; grandchildren,  Anthony, Alyssa, Chris, Taylor, Jasmine, Emilio, Julio, Alexis, Armando, Jr, Erika, Hayleigh, Ashley, Bianca, Kady, Dominick, Zavier, and Gabriel; great-grandchildren, Adrian, Avery, Kamila; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends and pet companions, Manny, Pancha, and Chachi.
