Mary “Pat” Neyhard, 83, of Hillsboro, passed away on February 14, 2019, in Hewitt. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m, Monday, February 18, 2019 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Robert Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, February 17, 2019, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Mary was born on September 11, 1935, in the Woodbury Community of Hill county, to Fred John and Verna (Wood) Hoffman. She grew up in Ft. Worth where she helped raise her siblings and attended Poly High School. On January 15, 1953, she was united in marriage to Walter Milford Neyhard, and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2009. She raised four children, while living in many different places, while her husband served his country in the United States Air Force.
She loved to read especially mysteries and westerns, she also enjoyed watching all types of movies. Throughout her life she cooked at several restaurants, but her true passion was with antiques. Mary was self employed and was owner-operator of Pat’s Antiques and Collectibles in Hillsboro. For more than 40 years, she was an avid antique collector, and she sold antiques, collectibles, books and more. She became very successful with her online sales and extremely knowledgeable of glassware and dishware. Mary loved refinishing wood furniture, and she painted and sketched very well too.
Others preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Walter Lynn Neyhard; a brother, Mitchell Hoffman; and a sister, Barbara Starr.
Survivors include her children, David Neyhard and wife Cathy of McGregor, Patrice Stidham and husband Paul of Whitney, and Laurie Ward and husband Randy of Grandview; brother, John Hoffman and wife Tommie of Woodbury; 6 grandchildren, David Neyhard and wife Kristal of Hewitt, Amy Kuzniarek and husband Kyle of Hewitt, Candace Gazelka and husband Dan of Waco, Zane Stidham of Whitney, Randell Ward and wife Shannon of Grandview, and Ryan Ward of Alvarado; 10 great-grandchildren, Abby, Emily, Austin, Conner, Anthony, Kasey, Blake, Chase, Maddox, Malachi.
