Mary Sckittone

Mary Jane “Doodie” Sckittone 59 of Whitney Passed away on April 17, 2019 at her residence. Graveside services under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors of Whitney will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Yates Cemetery near Whitney. Officiating will be Dr. Gerald Dudley of Open Range Cowboy Church, Whitney. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, April 19, 2019 at the funeral home.

Mary was born on October 28, 1959 in Denver City, Texas to Wayne Edward and Joyce Evelyn(Jones) Thames. When she was two years old the family moved to Abbott she attended school in Abbott and Aquilla. She worked for a furniture factory in Hillsboro and later moved to McKinney to work for the same company. Mary later moved to Whitney and worked at the Short Stop before going to work for Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. She worked in materials management retiring from there in 2012. She worked many years for Daniels Ambulance Service as an E.M.T. Mary enjoyed many hours on her computer, spending time with her friends on Facebook. Mary was a member of the Abbott Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and brother Wayne Edward Thames Jr.

Survivors include son, Gerald David Scalf; sister, Carolyn Swinford and husband, James; significant other, Eddie Harrail Pelham and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
