Mary was born October 4, 1946 in Lufkin, Texas to William Eldon and Pauline Elizabeth Reeves Denby. After going school in Huntington, Texas she moved to Klute, Texas. On January 8, 1965 in Brazoria Coutny, Texas she married Edward Slough and lived in Brazoria County until moving to the Whitney area in 1977. A licensed dietician, she worked for Texas Home Health. She was a member of the House of Prayer Baptist Chuch in Whitney. Preceding her in death were a granddaughter, Kirstin Leeann Slough on November 20, 1997, and her father, William Denby. Survivors include her husband, Edward Slough of Whitney; mother, Pauline Offield of Whitney; four children, Steven Earl Slough and wife, Lisa, of Whitney, Nancy Colleen Stevens and husband Mike, of Whitney, Mary Joann Conner and husband, Clifton, of Whitney, and David Rogers Slough of Whitney; two step-children, Robert Slough and wife, Carolyn, of Cleburne, and Sharon Lynn Eyre and husband, Randy, of Cleburne; a half-sister, Bobbie; and eighteen grandchildren.
