Mary Sowers

Mary Ann Sowers was born on November 19, 1943 in Memphis, Texas to Clifford Lee and Wanda Zel Lee Collins. She married James L. Sowers on March 19, 1994 in Sacramento, California. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Whitney and the Gideons International Auxiliary. Mary loved to sew, loved to paint, was an ardent reader, very active in church and was a avid Southern Gospel Music enthusiast. Survivors include her husband, James of Whitney; children, Michael Barnett and wife, Staci of Folsom, California, Deborah Higgins and husband, Dennis of Sacramento, California, Rebbeca L. Popeck of Wilmington, North Carolina, Gretchen Ann Smith of Hampstead, North Carolina, James B. Sowers of Wilmington, North Carolina; grandchildren, Hayley Higgins and Caitlin Higgins of Sacramento, California and Sean Barnett of Folsom, California.
