Mary Odell Stallcup, 92, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday July 31, 2011 in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 4, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Wayne Sewell officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, August 4, at the funeral home.
Odell was born April 4, 1919 in Dallas to Jacob Roy and True Zilla (Williams) Banner. On April 14, 1940 she married J. D. Stallcup, Sr. They celebrated 56 years of marriage together. She was a homemaker, Bible teacher, accomplished seamstress and member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro for many years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughter, Deborah Ann Lloyd; four sisters; and six brothers.
Survivors include her brother, Frank Banner; son J. D. Stallcup, Jr. and wife, Marie; son-in-law, Jack Lloyd; two daughters, Carol Sewell and husband, Wayne, and Jan Sparling and husband, Eddie; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. and Mrs. James Earhart and Jane Turner and Staff at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home for their care and concern.
