Mary Summerhill

Mary was the daughter of John C. and Leona Knox Boyse. At an early age, she moved to Abbott where she was raised. She graduated from Abbott High School where she was an outstanding basketball player. On April 5, 1944, Mary married Weldon Summerhill, and the couple would share the next 66 years together. Following their wedding, they moved to Fort Worth and lived there until moving to Hillsboro in 1979. Mary was an excellent cook and found her greatest joy in providing and caring for her family. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, and South Hills Baptist Church in Fort Worth during her years there. Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers - Carey, Jack, Earl and Tilson Boyse, and one sister - Evelyn Anderson. Survivors include her husband, Weldon Summerhill; son - Mike Summerhill and wife, Janice of Hillsboro; daughter - Paula Loe and husband, Ronald of Longview; 7 grandchildren - Brad Hickey of Fort Worth, Jennifer Cobb of Austin, Aaron Summerhill of Grandview, Megan Forbes of Austin, Lindsey Loe of Orlando, FL, Michael Loe of Longview, and Lauren Loe of Austin; 9 great grandchildren - Natosha Hickey, Cheyenne Hickey, Austin Cobb, Noah Warren, Emma Grace Warren, Ella Summerhill, Lucy Loe, and Kanten and Elijah Nichols.
