Mary Thomas

Mary Elizabeth Thomas, 87 of Whitney passed away on December 29, 2010 in Hillsboro.

Mary was born on December 17, 1923 in Monroe, Texas; the daughter of the late James and Myrtle Alexander Strawn. She grew up in Lubbock and married Henry (Jack) Thomas on December 5, 1952 and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2010.

She worked at the Methodist Hospital in Lubbock with visitor services for approximately 10 years. She moved to Whitney in 1997 to be close to her daughters. Mary was of the Methodist faith.

She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, 3 grandsons, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Seale of Dallas, Carolyn Pyle of Clifton, Linda Wolf and husband Jerry of Whitney, Henry Jackson Thomas, Jr. and wife Wendie of Blum; sister-in-law, Cathryn Strawn of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
