Mattie Lawson

Newell was the daughter of Houston H. and Mattie M. Burnett Stanley. She lived in California for 35 years before moving to Hillsboro. In November of 2003, she moved to Booneville, Arkansas. Flowers and gardening provided her great joy. She was affiliated with the Calvary Temple Church in Greenwood, Arkansas. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert Leon Lawson; a son, Hershel Glen Lawson; a grandson, Robert David Schmidt; a granddaughter, Christie Lynn Lawson; a sister, Tolly Truelove; and a brother, Billy Stanley. Newell is survived by one son, Jerry Lawson of Booneville, AR; one daughter Donna Schmidt of Yuma, AZ; 3 sisters, Annie Mae Walker of McKinney, Lillie Fae Holloway of Hillsboro, and Shirley Truelove of Lancaster, California. Grandsons, Jerry, Jason, Jamie, and Travis Lawson; Granddaughter, Newell Elizabeth Morgan; Great-grandson, Cameron; and Great-great-granddaughters, Nikki, Savannah, and Miranda.
