Maurice Finch, 83 of Hillsboro passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 in a Hillsboro nursing home. Services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Danny Gilliam of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory Cemetery near Hillsboro.
Maurice was born January 29, 1929 in Mertens to Farrar and Viola (Armstrong) Finch. He entered the Army in 1951 and served in Korea until his honorable discharge in 1953. At that time, he returned to Mertens where he farmed with his Dad for a number of years.
On February 14, 1964, he married Lois Dorsey and the couple settled in Hillsboro. Maurice worked for Pure Milk Company for nine years before going to work for Spartan Copper. About the same time, he and his wife started a commercial janitorial service, which they continued until 2009. Maurice was a very generous person who would help anyone in need.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and sister, Helen Hester.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Finch of Hillsboro; son, Jimmy Finch of Hillsboro; daughter, Susan Brumbalow of Itasca; grandson, Terrey Brumbalow of Odessa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
