Maurine (Taylor) Wilson

Maurine Wilson age 100, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Country Club Retirement Center Whitney Texas. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday July 26, 2023, at Salem Irene cemetery with Randy Marshall officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 PM at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Maurine was born on June 21, 1923, in Italy, Texas to Otis and Anna (Moore) Taylor. She was a family person, especially when it came to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Maurine loved birds, flowers, gardening, and feeding all kinds of wild animals, including ducks. She also loved crocheting and going riding in the “Jimmy.” Maurine made the best banana pudding, turkey dressing and orange slice cookies, they were always simply perfect. One other thing she loved to do was to go out and shoot a muzzle loaded rifle.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Winston B. Wilson; brothers, John Lee Taylor and James Otis Taylor; and son-in-law, Richard Mullens.

Maurine is survived by her children, Winston Douglas Wilson and wife Barbara, and Brenda Wilson Mullens; brother, William Copeland “Bill” Taylor and wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Sandi Manson (John), Monty Wilson and (Kathy), Richie Mullens (Nikky); great grandchildren, Lance Manson (Karla), Haley Walters (Codey), Ashley Cunningham, Tristan Wilson (Ashton), Cheyenne Wilson, Talan Wilson, Kole Mullens, and Korry Mullens; great-great grandchildren, Braley, Wyatt, Amelia, Eli, and Kolbi.

Memorials may be given to a charity of one’s choice.
