Maxine Lewis 87, of Brenham, Texas, formerly of Whitney and the widow of Earl Lewis, died November 15, 2012 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Funeral services will be Monday, November 19, at 11:00 AM at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Pastor Jim Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Maxine was born November 21,1924 in Milford, Texas to Kate and Charles Kuykendall. She lived a very active life and spent many years as a nursing home administrator. Maxine loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she always had a smile on her face when she was with them. She was a member of Line Street Methodist Church in Hillsboro, Texas.
Preceding her in death were her husband Earl Lewis, parents Kate and Charles Kuykendall, son Bobby Mills, daughter Patricia Mills, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Maxine is survived by daughter and son-in-law Pam and Ken Hill of Rockport, son and daughter-in-law Noel and Kathy Lewis of Flagstaff, AZ, and daughter-in-law Oma Mills of Brenham; grandchildren Stephanie and Justin Tomachefsky, Aaron Wensel of Brenham, Bryan Hill of Rockport, Allen and Wanda Mills of Conroe, Jennifer Michelle and David Lewis of Flagstaff, AZ; great-grandchildren Jared, Madison and Hunter Tomachefsky, Colton and Carson Wensel, Chris Mills and Abby Gurrero.
