Maxine Williams, 85, of Pasadena, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Smith Bend ~Coon Creek Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Booth officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Maxine was born on August 27, 1929, in Whitney, to Irwin Thomas and Jessie Artelia (Worley) Boswell. She grew up in Whitney and graduated from Whitney High School, living in Whitney for most of her life except for the last 18 years when she lived in Pasadena. On June 12, 1947, she married James Williams and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1983. As a special education teacher, she taught in the Whitney ISD for 18 years. Spoiling her grandchildren was one of her favorite pastimes. She was a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church in Pasadena.
Also preceding her in death was a son, Larry Williams
Survivors include her children, Terry Williams and wife, Cherie of Deer Park and Lori Wheeler and husband, Scott of Walterboro, SC; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Eldon Boswell of Arlington and a sister, Betty Jean of Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prairie Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1668, Whitney, TX or Smith Bend~Coon Creek Cemetery, P.O. Box 5507, Laguna Park, TX 76644.
