May Wynell Hollingsworth, 91, of Carrollton died Monday, December 21, 2009, in Carrollton. May was born March 19, 1918 in Irene the daughter of Theodore and Mattie Batton York. A graduate of Irene High School, May often talked about playing basketball in her high school days. She married Jack Hollingsworth and he preceded her in death. For 27 years she was a bank teller at Citizens National Bank in Hillsboro. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, an avid bingo player, and a great coin collector. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Tony York; and three sisters, Juanita Sanders, Lois Langford, and Sissy Blount. The family wishes to thank Ms. Denise Johnson for the special love and care that she provided May over the last several years of her life. Survivors include two sisters, Nadine Colwell of Arlington and Sue Hammack of Cedar Hill; four nieces and two nephews, Sherwood E. Blount, Jr. of Dallas, Dean Owen of Granbury, Nancy Ryan of Dawson, Cathy Winchester of Cedar Hill, Jan Rodriguez of Red Oak, and Billy Cummings of San Antonio.
