Melvin Beckham

Melvin Ray Beckham, 54, of Milford passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014, at Richland Cemetery in Mertens with Rev. Steven Gilley of Milford Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday at the cemetery. Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Melvin was born September 4, 1959 in Forney to Melvin C. and Gladys (Fulton) Beckham. On February 16, 1985 he married Martha Beckham. Martha preceded him in death on June 19, 2012. Melvin was a truck driver and in his spare time loved to fish and hunt. He especially loved being with his family. Also preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his son, Jeffery Woodard and wife, Mara, of Milford; two brothers, Bruce Beckham and wife, Anna, and Robert Beckham and wife, Janell, all of Milford; sister, Mary Evelyn Pugh of Lexington, TN; and four grandchildren, Jeremy, Hayley, and Kylie and Jacob Smalling.
