Merle Dollar

Merle Dollar, 91, of Whitney, passed away on April 13, 2018, in North Richland Hills. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018, at Whitney Church of Christ with Mr. Bruce Martin officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Sunday at the funeral home.

Merle was born on June 6, 1926, in Hillsboro, to Ben and Ruesteve (Young) Stanley. She married Robert Dollar on April 13, 1945 and he preceded her death on February 8, 2012. She was a homemaker. Merle was also a member of Whitney Church of Christ.

Also preceding her death were her parents; and 2 sisters, Burna Moore and Mildred Dayton.

Survivors include her children, Judy Gail Thomas and husband Gene, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Robert “Buck” Dollar and wife Pam, of Wheeler, Dennis Dollar and wife Cathy, of Mascoutah, Illinois, and Steve Dollar and wife Gina, of North Richland Hills; 9 grandchildren, Shannon Toney, Ashley Thomas, Penny Clark, Ben Clark, Nick Dollar, Mallory Dollar, Alayna Dollar, Natalie Dollar, Elijah Alvarez; 7 great-grandchildren, Dacey, Rylan, Jake, Ava, Breck, Dalton and Brooke.
