Merton Hopper

Merton Charles Hopper, 65, of Whitney passed away on February 24, 2008 at his residence. He was born on July 18, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri to Frances and Lou Kimble Hopper. He married Carolyn Qualman on Feb. 21, 1981 in Dallas, Texas. Merton worked for North American Rockwell in Tulsa, OK on the Apollo space program. He also worked as a District Sales Manager for Cole National Corporation and as the Branch Manager for Volt Technical Services in Dallas. He was a member of White Bluff Chapel and also a member of the Whitney Masonic Lodge #355 AF&AM. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances Hale. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of Whitney; children, Craig Hopper and wife, Sally of Hailey, Idaho, Chris Sunderland and husband, David of Midland; sister, Annie Burris and husband, Dick of Florida; grandchildren, Danielle and Demi Hopper, Peter, Grace and Hilary Sunderland.
