Mildred Sonnenburg, 78, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011, in Dallas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 21, 2011, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Donna Ware of the First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro officiating. Viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21.
Mildred was born July 17, 1933 in Hubbard, TX the daughter of George Cecil and Rosie (Stringer) Holman. She worked in sales at Dillards in Mesquite and Waco. For most of her life, she lived in Hillsboro and Hill County. She took great pleasure in tending to her roses and other flowers in her garden. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hillsboro.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, John Holman; and sister, Kitty Johnson.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Sonnenburg of Mesquite and Brenda Tekell of Logan, Utah; sister, Ruby Schrieber of Mesquite; 3 grandchildren, Haley McLaughlin, Chance Tekell, and Kaylin Tekell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
