Mildred Tune

Mildred Marie Pope Tune, 83, of Round Rock, Texas died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Trinity Care Center in Round Rock. Mildred was born August 12, 1922 in Hillsboro, where she was raised, the daughter of Lonnie Alvin and Mary Elizabeth Jameson Pope. On September 22, 1940 she married Martin Lynn Cotton Tune and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1972. She was a homemaker and member of the Ladies Auxiliary Hillsboro Amvets where she served as an officer. Also preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers; one sister; a daughter-in-law; and a grandson. Survivors include her children, Marvin Lynn Tune of Red Oak, Gloria Valentine and husband, Dirk, of New Braunfels, Tommy Tune and wife, Dianna, of Hillsboro, Warren Tune and wife, Susan, of Arlington, and Valerie Madsen and husband, Charlie, of Round Rock; sister, Helen Catherine Pope Nelson of North Carolina; two brothers, Donald Ray Pope and wife, Shirley, of Hillsboro and Herman Leslie Pope and wife, Joy, of Lafayette, LA; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
