She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 13, 2022, after a long battle with interstitial lung disease, pneumonia and finally covid. Miriam was born and raised in Laredo, TX, and moved to Kingsville, TX to study at Texas A&I University, where she graduated with her master’s degree in education. Miriam married Stanley Yuraitis, and they raised their family in Kingsville. She spent many years teaching math, performing arts and art to high school students in both public and private schools.

Miriam was a talented artist with an eye for beauty. She had a passion for writing and wrote two novels. She loved life and celebrated every moment. She was an encourager and never met a stranger. She loved to pray with her sister, Carmen, every evening. Miriam also loved to worship Jesus and singing along with Christian music was one of her favorite things to do.

Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stanley Yuraitis, and her brother-in-law, Howard Haugen.  She is survived by four children, Clair (Ernest) Herrera, Lucas (Mandi) Yuraitis, Robert (Crystal) Yuraitis and Anna (Hector) Reyna. She had six grandchildren, Casandra Herrera, Logan Herrera, Isabella Salazar, Liliana Reyna, Brandon Yuraitis, and Kailey Fay Yuraitis.
