Mitch Whitman

Mitchell (Mitch) Wayne Whitman was born November 6, 1965, in Fort Worth, Texas and went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 6, 2025, at his home in Covington, Texas at the age of 59.

Mitch is survived by his loving wife of thirty-eight years Carrie Allison Whitman, his two sons, Patrick Whitman and Matthew Whitman; Father, Jack Whitman and wife, Debbie; Sister, Elizabeth McLean and husband Bill; Brother, Scotty Whitman; Aunt Glenda Grant and Aunt Janice Jordan; Brother-In-Laws, Buddy Allison, Gene Allison and wife, Laura and many wonderful nieces and nephews and a group of close friends who him and Carrie consider as family.

Mitch was preceded in death by his Mother, Joyce Shineldecker; Grandparents, Floyd Jordan and Ellen Smith; Uncle, Bob Jordan and his very special Nephew, Travis Whitman who Mitch called Mr. Montgomery and loved dearly; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Doug and Mary Ann Allison, Brother-In-Laws, Curtis and David Allison.

Mitch loved to cook, and he could smoke a mean brisket or rack of ribs. If you ever left his house hungry, it was your own fault because he always made sure there was plenty! He loved to be with his family or friends having a good time either singing karaoke, riding Side x Sides, going on vacations or taking camping trips. Mitch was always the "head cook" and kept all the guys in line when it came to cooking a big country breakfast at the lake.

Mitch was a giver and a helper and would help anyone at any time. He was a big man in stature but had a very loving and caring heart. He was our gentle giant.

Carrie was the love of his life. In June, they would have been married for thirty-nine years! Carrie was his lady, and he was her man, and it showed in their relationship every day. Mitch knew when Carrie called him, Mitchell Wayne, he had better straighten up and get serious. He told us many times, only two people can call me that, my momma and my wife!

Mitch will be deeply missed by Carrie, Pat and Matthew and his loving family and group of friends. Our lives were greatly blessed in many ways to have Mitch a part of our lives. If you ever had the pleasure of knowing Mitch, you had a friend for life.

We love you, Mitch! Thanks for all the precious memories we made together. You beat us there, so get it all ready and we will see you on the other side.
