Morris Keitt Wood, age 80, passed away July 21, 2024 at Homestead Nursing and Rehab in Hillsboro, Texas. A Memorial graveside will be held at 11:00 a.m., August 3, 2024 at Fairview cemetery in Hubbard, Texas.

Morris Keitt Wood was born in Waco, Texas on November 18, 1943 to Morris and Olin Wood. The family resided in Hubbard, Texas until Keitt was 6 years old. They then moved to Houston where he attended public schools. After Elementary School he attended Jane Long Junior High School then on to Bellaire High School where he met many lifelong friends. He graduated in 1962.
Keitt served honorably in The United States Army for 5 years. He is a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart for a wound he incurred in combat. Keitt spent his business career in the chemical industry where he enjoyed success as an Account Manager. Keitt lived in Houston for 57 years. Upon his retirement he moved to Whitney, Texas where later met his partner Nelda Smith. They soon fell in love and spent 17 years together in the Whitney area. The last year of his life, his health began to diminish. Nelda was by his side as care giver and loyal partner. In early July, Keitt was diagnosed with liver cancer. Soon thereafter on July 21, 2024 he peacefully passed away.
He is survived by his loving partner Nelda Smith. He had no siblings.

Friends of Keitt are encouraged to speak of him at the service.
