Myra Finch

Myra Dell McMurry Finch, 94, of Bynum was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 9, 2008. Myra was born August 8, 1914, near Memphis in Hall County, Texas the eldest of four children born to Earl Seab and MattieSmith McMurry, and moved with her family to Brandon at an early age. She joined the Brandon Baptist Church and was baptized in the faith August 9, 1922. On January 1, 1936, Myra married James Cullen Finch and they made their home in Brandon until his death on July 16, 1982. She was a superb housewife and mother, and an active member of her church and community. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, and one sister. Survivors include her youngest sister, Margaret B. McMurry of Lubbock; one daughter, Myra Dell Collins and husband, Bob, of Flowery Branch, Georgia; one son, James Allen Finch and wife, Linda, of Brandon; four grandchildren, James Christopher Finch and wife, Rebecca, of Brandon, Erin Collins and Brandon Collins , both of Alanta, Georgia and Karen Finch of Azle; two great-grandsons, James Collin and Cameron Luke Finch both of Brandon; and a number of special relatives and friends. Her family would also like to thank Dr. Skelton and all of the caregivers at Hill Regional Hospital and Town Hall Estates for giving such special care to a very special lady.
