Myra Gatlin

Myra Gatlin, 81, of Aquilla passed away on October 12, 2009. Myra was born on July 25, 1928 in Aquilla; the daughter of the late Norris and Meta Lueck Burleson. She graduated from Aquilla High School and had lived in Aquilla all of her life. She played basketball on a team that won state championship and she was an all state forward in the 1940's. The team was coached by head coach John P. Cox. Myra married A. L. Gatlin, Jr. on August 21, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1989. She was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church near Aquilla. She enjoyed shopping, rodeos, her dogs and listening to the music of Bob Wills and Ray Price. Survivors include her children, Andrea Holt and husband, Keith and Jana Buzbee and husband James both of Aquilla; grandchildren, Keitha Hatfield and husband, Stephen of Round Rock, Trey Buzbee and wife, Denae, Brant Buzbee and wife, Kari all of Aquilla; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Collin Hatfield, Bayden Buzbee and Kolton Buzbee.
