Myrl Wensel Wade, 76, of Whitney, passed away on March 21, 2017, in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2017, under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney with Rev. Philip Wottrich officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at Waco Memorial Park in Waco. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the funeral home.

Myrl was born on May 11, 1940, in Hillsboro, to Robert and Nora (Timmerman) Wensel. She graduated from Waco High School in 1958. On July 13, 1958, she married Frank Wade in Waco. They moved to Alabama in 1976 and lived there until they moved to Whitney in 1999. For 30 plus years, they owned and operated Stoney Brook Golf Course in Jacksonville, Alabama.

She was an excellent cook and seamstress and also enjoyed traveling. Being very family oriented, she loved spending time and being with her family. Myrl was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney.

A member of the Red Hat Society, she loved their monthly “get-togethers.” She was also a member of the Lone Star Chapter of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America, and she and Frank always enjoyed traveling with and attending the spring and fall car tours.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Darwin Wade; and a grandson, Blake Wade.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Wade of Whitney; children, Daryl Wade and wife, Mary of Waco and Renda Jaskowski and husband, Bob of Jacksonville, Alabama; five grandchildren, Brandy Fisher and husband, Jared of Florence, Mississippi, Aaron Wade and wife, Destiny of Jacksonville, Alabama, Abby Jaskowski, Ben Jaskowski and Luke Jaskowski, all of Jacksonville, Alabama; and great-granddaughter, Ellie Wade of Jacksonville, Alabama; brothers, Harlan Wensel and wife, Acey of Fort Worth, Ronald Wensel and wife, Julia of Wolfe City, and Nolan Wensel and wife, Betty of Plano.
