Myrtle A. Riley, 81 of Whitney passed away on October 14, 2011.

Services will be held Monday, October 17, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Whitney with Rev. Greg Johnson and Dr. Carl Jennings officiating. Interment will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 4 - 6 PM Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.

Myrtle was born on May 31, 1930 in Morgan; the daughter of the late David and Thonetta (Stanford) Cox. She grew up in Abbott and graduated from Abbott High School. On May 28, 1948, she married Charlie Riley and he preceded her in death on February 9, 1992. They lived in Fort Worth until 1979 before moving to Whitney. She and her husband owned and operated Riley Auto Parts for 25 years. Myrtle was a member of the First Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher, G. A. leader and a member of the W.M.U. for many years. She was the prayer warrior of the family.

Also preceding her in death were 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her children, Christie Riley of Whitney, Patricia Graham and husband, Joe of Fort Worth and Vanessa Olsen and husband, Ken of Burleson; sisters, Bessie Pierce of Glen Rose and Joann Palmer of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jimmy Gilbert, Jason Gilbert, Crystal Strong, Steven Isham, January Boman and Charlie Ford; 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
