Nancy Bartley

Nancy “Louise” Bartley, 73, of Lakeside Village passed away Monday, May 2, 2011, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro with Rev. Bill Roe officiating. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park in Whitney. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Louise was born March 26, 1938 in Bradley County, AR the daughter of James and Lucy (Beard) Barrett. She worked at Buddy’s Grocery in Fort Worth and then at Piggly Wiggly in Cleburne, retiring in 1996. In 1973 she moved from Fort Worth to Lakeside Village. On April 14, 1973 she married Carl Junior Bartley in Ardmore, OK and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2007

An avid animal lover, Louise especially loved her dogs and cats. Laughter and having a good time were very important to her. She enjoyed reading and was a very good cook. She was very strong willed and always spoke her mind.

A very loyal and faithful Christian lady, Louise was a member of First Baptist Church in Kopperl. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her church with all her heart.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Claudia Brown; brother, Monroe Barrett; and grandson, Jeremy Long.

Survivors include her three children, Glenda Long and husband, Bill, of North Richland Hills, Darlene McCrary of Lakeside Village, and Linda Zarate and husband, Richard, of Ranger; two step-daughters, Patricia James and Tina Young both of Fort Worth; brother, Bernard Barrett and wife, Pat, of Tuscon, AZ; two sisters, Ruth Brown and husband, T. H., and Ruby Brown all of Monticello, AR; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
