Nancy Wachs

Nancy L. Wachs, 69, of Blum, passed away on November 9, 2014, at her home. The family will hold a memorial service at 6:30 PM, Monday, November 10, 2014, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Whitney, with Rev. Greg Johnson officiating.

Nancy was born on October 17, 1945, in San Diego, California, to Larry and Delphia Maxine (Simmons) Hord. She grew up in Texas and after graduating from high school in 1964, she joined the U. S. Marine Corps. In March of 1965, she married Karl Wachs and they raised their family while Karl was serving with the U.S. Marines.

Nancy and Karl have lived in Whitney for past 25 years. She loved watching soap operas, bird-watching and gardening. She also raised dogs and miniature horses. Going shopping and to casinos were also some of her favorite pastimes.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Karl Wachs, of Blum; children, Mary Ann Wachs of Blum and Karl Gary Wachs, Jr., of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Cortlin E. Clark and wife, Carla , and Misty L. Clark all of Whitney, Cody S. Clark and Mary Goff of Blum, Dustin M. Wachs, Jessica L. Wachs, and Ryan Smith, all of Wichita Falls; great-grandchildren, Miyra K. Clark and Kendall S. Clark of Blum, and Bradley Clark and Isabella Clark of Whitney; brother, Ralph Hord and wife, Sandra of Roselle, IL and William A. Woody of Fort Worth; sister, Lela Hunn and husband, Lloyd of Houston.
