Nathan Earl Starr

Nathan Earl Starr a kind, loving, and devoted husband, dad, and grandpa passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021, at his residence.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney.  Visitation will be held from Noon-1:30 p.m. prior to service time at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Nathan graduated from Southwestern Adventist Junior College in Keene, TX, in 1964.  In 1966 he married Patricia Springfield in Menard, TX.  Earlier in his life he did maintenance work, rarely facing anything he could not “fix” – whether mechanical or structural.  He spent over 30 years in roofing sales.

Christian education was very important to him, and he was active in youth ministries with his church, from the local church schools and Pathfinder clubs to international mission trips to Mexico and Romania.  Nathan was a member of the Waco Seventh–day Adventist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Donald Starr and Olive Elizabeth Duxbury Starr; and both brothers, Donald John Starr and Merlin Dwight Starr.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patsy Starr; daughters, Tammi Starr Lesczynski (Brian) and grand-dogs, Maya & Maggie, and Stephanie Starr Anker (Eric) and grandsons, James Cain and Christian Anker (Kathleen); a chosen son, Horacio Tavares, Jr.; several nieces and a nephew, along with their families.
