Neish Brown

Biography

Neish Brown, age 91, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 in Waco. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m, Monday, April 15, 2019, at the Whitney Church of Christ with Mr. Bruce Martin officiating. A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14th at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at the Woodson Cemetery in Woodson, Texas.

Neish was born October 29, 1927, in Woodson, Throckmorton County, Texas, the son of Daniel Bolivar and Myrtle Ilene (White) Brown. He married Emogene Bryant on March 21, 1944 and she preceded him in death on August 9, 1981. In October of 1981, he married Lois Marshall and she preceded him in death on November 7,2009. He is also preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and 2 sisters.

Neish was a skilled horseman and outdoors man and he and his brother trained and broke horses for many years. He loved all kinds of other animals as well. He worked for the Swift Meat Packing Company in Ft. Worth for many years and later worked for the Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company before retiring. He and Lois spent several years selling at flea markets. He was a member of the Valley Mills Church of Christ and formerly a member of the Whitney
Church of Christ. Neish was a loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ilene and John Carroll of Waco; stepson and daughter-in-law Paul and Debbie Marshall of Azle; grandson, Neish Allen Carroll of Austin; step-grandsons and wives, Jake Marshall and wife, Britany and Dan Marshall and wife, Nickki and two step great-grandchildren, Aniston and Emerson.
