Nelda Ruth “Nell” Bell, 56, of Hillsboro went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2011 in Bosque County. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Andrew Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Gholson. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Nell was born December 9, 1954 in McLennan County to Odell and Mary Ellen (Bibles) Wagoner. She was raised in Gholson, attended schools there, and was a 1974 graduate of Aquilla High School. As a child, she attended church at the Gholson Church of God in Christ. She was later baptized into the Baptist faith at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Hillsboro. On March 12, 1978 she married Andrew Bell in Hillsboro.

Nell was a dedicated CNA Hospice Caretaker at Hospice of The Heart in Whitney for the past 15 years. Being a caregiver to others is what Nelda loved doing most in life. She was very devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. She had so much love for all her family and friends. Working in the yard, gardening, and tending flowers gave her great pleasure.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Carolyn Loadholt.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew Bell of Hillsboro; parents, Odell and Mary Wagoner; three children, Andrai Hughes of Riverside, CA, Mary Bell of Hillsboro, and Wadren Bell of Waco; daughter-in-law, Leticia Cortez-Hughes of San Bernardino, CA; two brothers, Kenneth Odell Wagoner and Keith Wagoner both of Gholson; eight sisters, Mary Ann Stevenson (Kenneth) of New York, Joyce Walker of Waco, Sandra Stramler (Bert) of Waco, Donna Knox of Gholson, Angela Hickman (Jerry) of Waco, Elaine Lloyd of Gholson, Jennifer Holder (David) of Mississippi, and Betty Jean Wagoner of Waco; four grandchildren, Ashley Hughes, Jason Orr, and Jayla Orr all of Hillsboro, and Sadie Hughes of Riverside CA; many uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
