Nell Gregory

Nell Gregory, 87, of Hillsboro passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Officiating will be Mr. Glenn Standly, Mr. Glenn Gray and Mr. Bruce Martin. Burial will follow at Vaughan Cemetery in Vaughan. Visitation will be Monday, November 10, 2014, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Nell was born April 18, 1927, in Hillsboro to Albert Newton and Margaret (Adams) Dollar. Nell graduated from Hillsboro High School where she was a member of Les Causeuses Club. On June 1, 1947, she married Edward Gregory whom she had met on a blind date. She loved cooking, traveling, parties, shopping, pretty dolls, playing Chicken Foot, and going to church. Most of all she loved her family. She was a member of Aquilla Church of Christ.

Nell was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters and her sons-in-law, Jerry Burkhart and Mike Stacy.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Gregory, of Hillsboro; daughters Jan Nash and husband Doug of Carrollton, June Skerik and husband Richard of Waco, Rhonda Burkhart of Hillsboro; sister-in-law Merle Dollar of Whitney; grandchildren Tim Stacy and wife Amy, Michelle Stevens and husband Dave, Christy Longoria and husband Michael, Kimberly Skerik, Robert Skerik and wife Kalie, Haley Carmona and husband Mark, Meagan Vaughn and husband Corey, and Phillip Burkhart; great grandchildren Alyssa, Joshua, and Chloe Stevens, Reese Skerik, Marissa and Mark Anthony Carmona, and Major and Aniston Vaughn.
