Mrs. Baker was the daughter of Henry and Mabel Jolly Mathis. She grew up, attended school, and married Howard Baker on March 21, 1953 in Olton. After living in the Panhandle area, she moved to Frisco in 1967 and then moved to Brandon in 1972, where she lived until her death. She worked as a bookkeeper for Robertson Grain for 26 years and also was back-up at the Brandon Post Office for several years. As a member of the Brandon Baptist Church, she served as treasurer for many years. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Howard on July 13, 1995, and a brother, Billy Mathis. Survivors include: a son, Danny Baker and wife, Cristyn of Bynum; a daughter, Lynn Frazier of Burleson; a brother, Jerry Mathis of Olton; a sister, Dorothy Williams of Mineral Wells; 4 grandsons, Shane Baker, Justin Frazier, Aaron Baker, and Brandon Frazier; and 3 great-grandchildren, Allie Baker, Cade Baker, and Dalton Prince. Memorials made be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
