Nelson Richardson

Nelson Richardson, 68, of Waco passed away Saturday evening, October 7, 2017, in Waco. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Peoria Cemetery in Peoria with Rev. Melissa Graham. Visitation will be prior to service from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at Peoria Cemetery.

Nelson was born on April 30, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas to James and Pearline (Dunn) Richardson. He grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. He served in the United States Army during Vietman.

Nelson was united in marriage to Linda Sirmons on January 31, 1969 and preceded him in death on November 24, 2007. For many years he worked at Baylor University in the publishing department. Nelson loved listening to old records and tinkering with clocks and anything to do with owls. He was a Christian in the Baptist Faith.

Survivors included his son, Ben Richardson of Waco; brothers Jim Richardson of Ft. Worth and Doug Richardson of Whitney; sisters, Rita Waits and Cheryl Jones both of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Katherine Melvin, Kimberly Richardson, and Tyler Richardson; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Weston Melvin.

Memorial proceedes go to the Go Fund Me Richardson family funeral expenses.
