Neta Bell Barnard, 89, of Hillsboro passed away Friday, November 6, 2015, at Cartmell Home in Palestine. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
She was born July 10, 1926 in Denton County to Abner Calloway and Lura Bell McCraw. She was a member of Church on The Hill in Hillsboro. Mrs. Barnard was a loving and fun mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but most of all, she loved her Lord. We have no doubt she is rejoicing to be in His Presence today.
Mrs. Barnard was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwain Barnard; daughter, Louise Dodd; and ten siblings.
She is survived by her son David Barnard and wife, Pam, of Palestine; sister, Edna Crumpton of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Grady McClung and wife, Rachel, of San Antonio, Michelle Harris and husband, Daniel, of Ardmore, OK, Tom McClung and wife, Carrie, of College Station, Meredith Drewett and husband, Roy, of Tyler, and Megan Louis and husband, Walt, of Charlotte, NC; seventeen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
