Nettie Roberts

Nettie Roberts, 85 of Hillsboro passed away on July 3, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, July 6, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Hillsboro with Rev. Danny Gilliam officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 PM Thursday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro.

Nettie was born February 26, 1927 in Ellis County to John M. and Mary Jeanette (Hitt) Murray. After graduating from Milford High School, she married Roscoe Roberts on October 21, 1944 in Milford. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2009. The couple had lived in Hillsboro since 1947.

She worked for the doctors at the Hillsboro Clinic for over 20 years. Nettie enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Also preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Howard Murray, James Murray, and John Murray and one sister, Aline Carter.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet White and husband, Toxie of Plano; brother-in-law Robert Henry Roberts, Jr. and wife, Jan of Frost; sisters-in-law Faye Roberts of Katy and Vi Murray of San Antonio; step-grandchildren, Todd White of Keller and Rene’ Creel of Nacogdoches, and numerous nieces and nephews.
