Nettie Wiley, aged 82, of Whitney, passed away December 17, 2011 in Whitney.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Dr. Edwin Crank and Rev. Joe Bob Boyd officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney.

Nettie was born, October 3,1929, the daughter of Chick and May (McGuire) Gregory of Aquilla. Nettie grew up in Aquilla and graduated from Aquilla High School. On September 11, 1948, she married Olin Wiley, the love of her life, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1995. She worked as a seamstress at Wood of Texas and a switchboard operator for Continental Telephone. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Whitney and served as Queen of The Red Hat Society at Park Plaza Nursing Home.

Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Bonnie Powers and Vern Bessire; and one brother, Norris Gregory.

Survivors include children: Sheila Ratcliff of Aquilla and Paul Wiley and wife, Marva of Whitney; 5 grandchildren: Jamey Wiley, Krissi Hightower and husband, Brandon, Lisa Wiley, Nick Ratcliff, Jade McCurdy and husband, Rusty; seven great-grandchildren: Skyleigh Ratcliff, Gage Hightower, Taelyn McCurdy, Kena Hightower, Raley Jo McCurdy, Nate Ratcliff and Jo Jo Snipes.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Odyssey Hospice 2001 Bates Dr. #400,Waxahachie,Texas 75167 or Bethlehem Cemetery, P.O. Box 234, Whitney, TX 76692.
