Nettie Wilkerson

Nettie Wilkerson, 79, of Celeste, passed away on February 8, 2015, at a Leonard nursing home. Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Bill Mayfield officiating. She will lie in state from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Nettie was born on December 1, 1935 in Hemphill to Sid and Ivy (Miller) Burris. She was raised in Kirbyville but later moved to Orange. On June 2, 1972, she married Truman “Bud” Wilkerson and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1997.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Annie Miller.

Survivors include her children, Billy Logan of San Antonio, Patricia Crane of Celeste, and Keith Wilkerson of Merit; eight grandchildren, including, Shelby Wilkerson, Austin Logan, and Michael Reitmire; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Edna Henry and Mary Briggs, both of Celeste, and Martha Boykin of Tyler.
