Neva Miller

Neva Collins Miller,84, of Whitney passed away January 15,2012.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Neva was born May 13, 1927, in Douglas County, Missouri to Charles F. and Rosa Collins. She married James Ellis Miller on August 16, 1947. Neva loved to cook, crochet and sew, three areas of her life in which she excelled. She was an avid reader, a love that she passed on to her daughters. She also enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and banjo. Most importantly, Neva was a caring and loving wife,daughter,sister,mother,aunt,sister-in-law and grandmother. She lived out her last few years with her eldest daughter, Anita, in Boerne,Texas.

Survivors include three daughters, Anita Ferguson, Nanette Miller, and Caryl Gerik, sons-in-law Jeff Gerik and Mike Griffin, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.She was preceded in death by her husband,James, and her son-in-law, Buddy Ferguson.
