Norma Jean Post, 81, of Whitney passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in Whitney. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2012, at White Bluff Chapel in Whitney.
Norma Jean was born December 11, 1930 in Monette, Arkansas to John and Alice Lewis. On December 29, 1952 she married the love of her life, Jack Post, in Edinburg.
She loved to bake, as well as cook, and she painted gorgeous ceramic pieces. She also loved to sing, especially beautiful hymns. Norma Jean not only had the voice of an angel, but the spirit of one. There is no doubt she is watching over us all, much like she had done her whole life.
Norma is survived by her husband, Jack Post; sister and her husband, Juanita and Max Nienstadt; children and their spouses, Gary and Gail Post, Cathy and Chris Holm, and Dr. Brad and Susan Post; grandchildren, Adam Hinds and Jessica Dyess who married, Marty Dyess, and gave Norma her first great-grandchild, Jordan Marie Dyess.
She, being the epitome of a wonderful mother and grandmother, was also “Mom” to Ray Yantch, as well as the last “Bluebird Mom” to Karen, Becky, Amy, and Susan. She was known as “Mimi” to her many extended grandchildren, including Michael, Johnny, Francis, Eddie, Haley, and Ginny.
Her friends and extended family are too numerous to list, but you all know who you are, and how she treasured your friendship.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to White Bluff Chapel, 01072 White Bluff Dr., Whitney, TX 76692 for charitable distribution.
