Norman Devane “Pops” Densmore, 80, of Hillsboro passed away Monday, January 21, 2019, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019, at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rex Jean officiating.
He was born December 12, 1938, in Hillsboro. After graduating from Bynum High School in 1957, Norman joined the U. S. Marine Corps and served as a Private First Class at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Barstow, CA. In 1970, he received his Bachelor of Business Degree in banking and finance from the University of North Texas in Denton. He was a member of the Teamster Local #745 in Dallas, North America’s Strongest Union, Farmers Branch Moose Lodge #2277 in Farmers Branch, and the Irving Elks Lodge #2334 in Irving/Carrollton. Norman’s hobbies included being a cruciverbalist, a historian, a gardener, and watching college and professional football.
Preceding him in death were his father, Wade Densmore of Irene; mother and step-father, Bonnie Dell Mason-Beskow and Dr. Richard Beskow of Hillsboro; and grandparents, Knox and Minnie Mason of Irene and George and Jose Densmore of Morgan Mill.
Survivors include his daughter, Shelley Caillet-Stone of Hillsboro; two granddaughters, Mallarie Stone of Frisco and McKenzie Stone of Stephenville; two great-grandchildren, Conway McKoy Stone and Maven Ann Stone, both of Frisco; brother, Kenneth Densmore of Allen; nephew, wife, and great-niece, Clay, Kristi, and Maci Densmore of Anna; and nephew, Anthony Densmore of Wylie.
