Ocie Bruton

Ocie Modena Bruton 96, of Mertens passed away on June 9, 2006 at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro. She was the daughter of David Nathaniel and Nellie Pearl Langford Bruton. She was born and raised in Irene, Mertens area and graduated from Mertens high school. After high school she went to work for Southwestern Life Insurance Company until she retired and then moved to Mertens. She loved to work in her yard, sew, crafts, crochet, read and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Mertens. Preceding her in death were her parents; 3 brothers, Boyd, Buster and Roy L. Bruton and sister, Georgia Pearl Elliott Buie. Survivors include her sister, Gussie Shaw of Hillsboro; niece, Kay Negovetich and husband, Frank of Angleton; great niece, Marisha Negovetich of Austin.
