Oleta Fuller

Oleta Halbert Fuller, who was known to all who loved her as “Mom”, age 95, went to be with our Lord, reunited with her beloved husband Homer Fuller and son James Fuller, on May 31st, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Pastor Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the funeral home.

Oleta was born November 3rd, 1920, and raised in the Community of Prairie Valley, Whitney Texas, daughter of Jim and Hattie Patterson Halbert. Oleta’s love for the Lord was strong and deeply committed. She enjoyed reading her bible, listening to gospel music, sharing her faith with others, gardening, cooking, canning, and she was an excellent seamstress. She loved planting flowers and hunting, but most of all spending time with her family.

On December 20th, 1939, Oleta was married to her soul mate, Homer Odell Fuller, “Pop”. She retired from Texas Instruments in Sherman, Texas during 1970. In 1972 they returned to Prairie Valley where they built their home and lived out their lives there. Oleta was a member of Abiding Life in Whitney, Texas where she was baptized on June 19th, 1983 and again with her husband and grandson Shane Watson on October 16th, 1983.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Homer Fuller on December 22, 2007; and her son, James Fuller in October of 2006.

Oleta is survived by her daughters, Barbara and husband, Tommy Hope of Bonham,; Joyce and husband, Alex Armstrong of Floresville; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and close friends.
