Oleta White

Oleta White, age 95, of Alvarado and formerly of the Whitney area, passed away October 1, 2011 in Burleson, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at the Whitney Church of Christ on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 10:00 AM with burial at Peoria Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Oleta was born May 25, 1916 in the Crow Community of Hill County, Texas. She was the daughter of Frank and Macie (Mayfield) Hendricks. She lived in the Crow Community all of her life, until moving to Alvarado two years ago. Oleta married Clyde White in December 1941, and he preceded her in death in June of 1963. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Hendricks in August of 1996.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Whitney and worked in the medical field as a lab and x-ray technician at Grant Buie Hospital for many years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and working in her yard.

Survivors include her daughter, Emily Jane Rabeck of Alvarado, TX; granddaughter, Jane Balderas of Alvarado; great-grandchildren, Cierra Erickson, Tyler Erickson, Brandon Erickson, and Matthew Balderas, all of Alvarado.
