Olga Joyce (Shelley) Jones

Olga Joyce (Shelley) Jones, age 82, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Eddie Booth and Doug Shelley officiating. Burial to follow at 1:00 pm at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, January 9, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home in Whitney.

Olga was born in Lueders, Texas, on August 23, 1940, to Joseph Earl and Fannie Mae (Petty) Shelley. She graduated from Lueders High School in 1958, and married the love of her life, Linza Joseph Jones Senior on January 4, 1959. Olga was a great military wife, and faithfully followed wherever the Marine Corps sent Linza Sr. from Southern California all the way to Sasebo Japan.  She worked at the First National Bank of Whitney from 1976–1997. She was also a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star at both the Whitney and Blum chapters. Olga was an active member of Peoria Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Earl and Fannie Mae Shelley; siblings, Olan Shelley, Jesse Belle Brawley, Douglas Otto Shelley, Rosa Mae Barone, Sarah Helen Pippin, and Hoadley Richard Shelley.

Olga is survived by her husband of 64 years, Linza Joseph Jones Senior; her two sons, Linza Joseph Junior and Brian Anthony; her grandchildren, Linza Joseph Jones III, Amanda Shey Jones, Jacob Ryan Jones, and Sydney Micaela Jones; her great granddaughter, Rowen Noel Jones.
