Oma Lee was born on December 23, 1923 in Olney, the daughter of the late William and Mary Cox Davis. She graduated from North Texas State Teachers College in 1943. She taught Home Economics and Life Science for many years before retiring in 1970 from the Dallas I.S.D. On September 24, 1944, she married Allie M. Davenport, Jr in Wichita Falls. Oma Lee enjoyed writing poetry and was an avid cook who liked to change new recipes. She was a member of King Memorial United Methodist Church in Whitney. Also preceding her in death were her brother, Donald B. Davis; two son-in-laws, Terry Shoaff, Tommy Shaw and one great granddaughter, Brandi Vigil. Survivors include her husband, Allie M. Davenport, Jr. of Whitney; daughters, Marene Shoaff of Whitney, Nancy Templin and husband Bob of Keller; sister, Nadaline Thomas and husband Wallace of Benbrook; 5 grandchildren; Leeann Vigil and husband Juan of Whitney, Stephen Shoaff and wife Kristi of Sulphur Springs, Dara Shoaff of Whitney, Heather Morrison and Michael Antoes of Plano, Jessica Shaw of Dallas; 5 great grandchildren, Ashlee Vigil and boyfriend Mike Liberto of Whitney, Justin Shoaff, Marc Shoaff of Sulphur Springs, Hayley Shoaff, Chaz Shoaff of Whitney; great great granddaughter, Kaylee Liberto of Whitney.
