Opal was born January 21, 1918 in Dawson, Texas to George Cleveland and Dora Lee Horn Henthorn. For most of her life she lived in the Irene and Mertens areas. On July 25, 1936 she married Jim Bratcher in Dawson and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1983. Also preceding her in death were her parents. For 20 years she was a seamstress for Kreditor Manufacturer, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Hubbard Primitive Baptist Church in Hubbard. Survivors include two sons, Jim Bratcher and wife, Dovie, of Frost and Glenn Bratcher and wife, Connie, of Malone; four grandchildren, Dianna Robinson of Corsicana, Kimberly Buth and husband, Brian, of McGregor, Brady Bratcher of Malone, and J. J. Bratcher of Frost; a great-granddaughter, Kassidy Buth of McGregor; a brother, Elder James Henthorn and wife, Evelyn, of Itasca; two sisters, Ruby Robertson of Houston and Margie Nixon of LaFayette, Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews.
